Immersion Heaters / Screw Plug

Screw Plug Immersion Heater

Industrial immersion heaters are medium capacity heating units designed to heat liquids, viscous fluids, forced air and gases inside tanks, vessels and pipes. Bucan screw plug electrical immersion heaters are designed to be immersed directly into the gas or liquid being heated; since these heaters come into direct contact with the gas or liquid, heat up times are very fast.

Immersion heaters manufactured at Bucan consist of a single or a set of tubular elements that are formed into hairpins and welded to a screw plug.

The sheath material of the heating elements could be

  • steel,
  • copper,
  • stainless steel or
  • Incoloy.

The standard screw plug sizes utilized are 1”, 1 1/4, 2” and 2 1/2” and are either made of steel, brass or stainless steel, depending on the application. Various types of electrical protective enclosures, built-in thermostats, thermocouples and high-limit switches can be incorporated into screw plug immersion heaters.

Immersion heaters may be used to to heat up flammable liquids or gases in industrial application. Contact us to inquire about our explosion proof housing units.
