Immersion Heater
Industrial and Electric Immersion Heaters for Water, Oil, and Process Heating:
Bucan is a leader in the production of all types of Electric Immersion heaters! Within this category, there are several small details that can support their use in Water, Oil, or general process heating. The details of watt density and material selection is critical to achieve the results desired in your very specific application. When choosing an Immersion Heater, it is important to choose a company that can guide you through the differences between heaters designed for Immersion Water Heaters and
Immersion Oil Heaters.
To the average user, the construction and appearance would be difficult to know the difference, but with the assistance of our design team, we can advise what critical features you would need to make sure we are heating the water, or oil application with the correct speed and efficiency. Choosing the Style and correct material will also allow your Electric Immersion heater to last for the maximum amount of time in your specific application.
What is an Immersion Heater and how does it work:
An immersion heater is simply a metal encased heating resistor that is placed directly into your solution, An Oil Heater would be specifically designed for Oil, and simply a Water Heater would be designed for water based solutions. Obviously there are many other chemicals and types of solutions, but typically these are the primary main types of solutions mixed with other materials to be used in all applications. Each solution should be reviewed for Chemical compatibility and temperature rating to assure that the heater will be suitable for your needs.
Difference between water and oil immersion heater:
An Immersion Water Heater and an Immersion Oil Heater would be designed with the same fit and function, but the wattage and sheath would be specific. Oil heaters are much more forgiving for rusting and can be made of Steel and survive for long periods of time, but would need to be limited in power so they do not burn the Oil Base they are in contact with. Immersion Water heaters can have Higher wattages, but must be built with materials that do not rust or corrode.
Types of Immersion heaters:
In addition to the application of Electric Immersion heaters, they are also built in several styles. Bucan Builds several styles of immersion heaters, such as Flange heaters, Screw Plug Heaters, and Over the Side Immersion heaters. Each of these have specific purposes and can be provided for your application with the guidance of our engineering team. If you have specific requirements or certifications, Bucan has CSA approved products for Canada, and the US.
Water Immersion heaters:
Water Immersion heaters have options to be designed with Nema rated housings and protected enclosures to assure that your process is heated with no risk of electrical issues. These materials are chosen to perform in water and or water based solutions. Materials can range through many types of Stainless steel and Incoloy and can be passivated and electropolished. Many types of fittings and mounts can be provided to create a solution to your needs.
Oil Immersion heaters:
Oil Immersion heaters also have options to be designed with Nema rated housings and protected enclosures to assure that your process is heated with no risk of electrical issues. These materials are chosen to perform in oil and or oil based solutions. Materials can range through many types of Carbon Steel and Incoloy and must be designed to have maximum surface temperatures to assure that burning of the solution does not occur. We typically maintain lower direct contact temperatures and this allows for maximum heating with no smoke or fumes being released from the oil. We can also provide hazardous location enclosures for areas that could be dangerous if exposed to explosive vapors and fumes.
Industrial Immersion heaters:
Industrial Immersion heaters are the balance of Immersion heaters that can be With Temperature Controls. They can be Immersion heaters with Thermostats and just about any other combination of features that you can present. Here in Canada, we have many applications for Immersion heaters to Keep your materials from Freezing and this would be achieved by an Electric Immersion Heater with Temperature Control. Please contact our team for temperature rating availability.
Immersion Heater elements:
All Immersion heaters start with the same foundation of a well constructed Heating element. We build CSA listed formed tubulars that are tested to the highest standard. These are then inspected and formed to be used in your application. They can be formed in a basic Hairpin or they can be complex Oval and or formed in a pattern of your creation.
